Resident Evil 7 will have a next-gen version of PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, according to an insider of the saga

A well-known Resident Evil leaker 100% points out that Capcom is working on the next-gen version of Resident Evil 7.

What a day we are having with Resident Evil. As if it wasn’t enough with the 16 details of Resident Evil 8 Village that perhaps have gone unnoticed, the absence of the Maiden demo in the German PS Store, or everything announced in the Showcase last night, now an insider says the following …

Resident Evil 7 will have a next-gen version on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, which we can get for free if we already had it on PS4 and Xbox One. So says a well-known insider of the saga, Dusk Golem, who in the past already leaked the development of a multiplayer Resident Evil (which has turned out to be RE: Verse).

” I know that virtual reality was thought at some point, I don’t know currently. To do VR they need consistent performance for motion sickness I guess. However, there are other things that are happening 100% that for some reason they did not mention, like the Next-Gen patch of RE7, ” stated Dusk Golem on Twitter.

This answer was directed to a user, who asked this insider about the possibility of seeing a Resident Evil 8 Village VR on PlayStation and PC consoles. Dusk Golem assures that it was raised, but cannot confirm that it will finally become part of the game on PS5, PS4, and PC.

This is unconfirmed, but it makes a lot of sense. One of the editions of Resident Evil 8 Village on consoles and PC is a batch that brings this new title and its predecessor, Resident Evil 7, which you can now reserve on the PS Store and Microsoft Store at a price of 89.99 euros.

It is unknown if this pack will already bring the next-gen version of Resident Evil 7, or if it will see the light later. According to Dusk Golem, Capcom is already very advanced on this version of PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, and it is surprising that it did not announce it at the event last night.

As we say, this is not confirmed and could remain a mere rumor. There are certain leaks of Dusk Golem that have nailed it, although others like the new Resident Evil Revelations for Nintendo Switch were not mentioned at the event last night … we will see in the future.

Do you think Resident Evil 7 will get an update on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S ? In the meantime, you can replay Capcom’s fantastic game or keep drooling with the Resident Evil 8 demo Maiden on PS5, heading into May 7.
