Rumor: Ryse 2 in development, not an Xbox exclusive

A sequel to 2013’s Ryse: Son of Rome action game from Crytek is rumored to be in development. The host and insider Shpeshal Ed spoke about this during a new episode of the XboxEra podcast.

According to the podcaster, he became aware of Ryse 2 back in July last year, before the Crytek leak. He has seen some of the material and believes that the source who shared it was telling the truth.

At the same time, it is interesting that at the time when the insider heard about the project, it was understood that the game would be multiplatform, and not an Xbox console exclusive.

“So if this new Ryse does appear, it looks like it will be multiplatform.”

At the end of October, a large database of internal Crytek documents was leaked to the network, which, among other things, mentioned the shareware Battle Royale Crysis Next, Crysis VR, Hunt Mobile, Robinson 2, and Ryse Next. Then the status of the projects was not clear, but now it is assumed that at least the new Ryse has been launched into development.
