STALKER 2 Cost of Hope: How to Get AKM-9B

STALKER 2: Cost of Hope DLC brings two new regions to the Zone, new factions, a new storyline, new mutants, and more. The new regions, CNPP (Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant) and Iron Forest, hold a lot of the new equipment items, exclusive to the DLC. As unique weapons are some of the best variants of the base weapons, acquiring them can make your encounters against the new mutants easier. One of the new unique weapons in Cost of Hope is the AKM-9B, a new variant of the base AKM-74S. In this guide, we will explain how to get the AKM-9B weapon in STALKER 2: Cost of Hope DLC.

AKM-9B Location in STALKER 2: Cost of Hope

The AKM-9B Assault Rifle is located in a safe at the Northwestern Building, east of the SWYD-West Checkpoint in the Iron Forest region.

The Iron Forest is the first new region that you can access during the Cost of Hope DLC. There are a couple of ways you can enter this region, either by progressing through the main DLC quests or completing the Dead or Alive side quest. Once you are inside the Iron Forest, you need to head to the northwest side of the region and discover the SWYD-West Checkpoint. This will make it easier for you to get the AKM-9B. From the checkpoint, head directly east to find the building.

How to Get AKM-9B in STALKER 2: Cost of Hope

Initially, the front entrance of the building will be locked. Shoot the lock to open the door and head inside. Go to the right, and you will see the blue safe. However, the safe is code-protected, and the console is on the wall beside the safe. Before you can enter the code to unlock the safe, you must first turn on the power.

The power room is opposite the safe, and to access this room, you need to enter a small hole on the left side of it. Jump over the boxes to find the hole. Go through it and interact with the lever to turn on the power. Turning on the power will create an electric barrier on the steps to the safe.

To reach the safe, go to the right side of the steps to find some boxes. Break the boxes and go to the back side. Climb up, and you will see a wooden board. Shoot the wooden board to open a space for you to jump in and reach the safe. The code for the safe is 3546, which you can find inside the room where you restored the power.

After entering the code, the safe will unlock. Go and loot the AKM-9B, along with a bag containing some ammo, healing items, energy drinks, and food.
