GSC Game World is one of the infamous game developer companies that is greatly known for their STALKER franchise. A first-person shooter survival horror game series that is greatly admired by millions around the globe. With such great success with the debut title of the series, GSC announced STALKER 2 back in 2010 with a release date of 2012.
However, the release of the sequel kept delayed and now, after a decade, GSC Game World announced the final Release Date for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl in their official tweet as well as released a brief trailer with the title ‘Final Release Date.’ STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released on September 5, 2024, on XBOX Series X|S and PC.
Before this official announcement, it was planned to be released in the first quarter of 2024. Despite the one last delay, the fans are not mad as they are both appreciative and happy because they will get to witness it in this very year.
In the tweet from GSC Game World, they mentioned the Key Notes that they worked on from the feedback that they got from the campfires in several countries. With that being said, they stated, ‘On the technical side of things — the game needs more time.’ While talking about the development process of the game, they ended the tweet with the following statements.
“While there is absolutely no way to make another delay sound less dim, we decided to be clear about our reasons to postpone the game for the sake of yet another wave of polishing.
“The final release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is now September 5, 2024.
“We know that you are waiting for this moment, as well as we do. But the preparation needs to be done so that the journey into the Zone goes smoothly and as planned. Thanks for your patience and continuous support, and be ready to see a lot of info about the game further this year.”
