Star Wars Episode l: Racer PS4 and Nintendo Switch release delayed

Star Wars Episode I Racer was supposed to be out right now on Nintendo Switch (May 12). However, the developer of this port, Aspyr, has confirmed that the game has been delayed indefinitely due to the complications of working from home during the coronavirus pandemic.

So, don’t look for the game in the eShop, because you won’t find it. The PS4 version was previously delayed and was expected to be out on May 26. However, this new delay affects both versions. Not informed about an indicative date: it could be before May 26; it’s probably later.

Here is the official statement:

“We are so excited to share Star Wars Episode l: Racer with you soon! Unfortunately, due to the ongoing work from home requirements across the industry, the game will be further delayed on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. We’ll be back with an update as soon as possible.”

Star Wars Episode I Racer was originally released in 1999 for Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and PC, transforming the famous pod race scene from Episode I: The Phantom Menace into a futuristic F-Zero or Wipeout-style racing arcade, the genre in boom around that time.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
