The First Descendant: Magister’s Hidden Assets – Quest Guide

The Magister’s Hidden Assets is a side quest in The First Descendant that players will be able to initiate in the Vespers region. However, unlike most of the quests where the game points you toward the markers to locate the key locations, Magister’s Hidden Assets quest doesn’t do that and leaves players in confusion.

How to Complete the Magister’s Hidden Assets Quest in The First Descendant

Completing the Magister’s Hidden Assets quest requires you to decrypt 2 Encrypted Vaults or an Encrypted Vault 2 times. The Encrypted Vaults are hidden around the Classified Area of the Vespers region.

Find the Encrypted Vaults

To find the Encrypted Vaults easily, use the Scanner by pressing the R3/RS Button and hear for an unusual sound. If you hear the normal sound while pressing the button, turn around and go a bit ahead in another direction to use the scanner again.

Upon hearing the unusual sound on the scanner, continue on the path until you see a black floating mannequin. The black floating mannequin is the hidden encrypted vault that you are looking for.

Decrypt the Encrypted Vaults

Upon finding the encrypted vaults, you need to decrypt them using the Precision Code Analyzer. It is a standard item and can be obtained from completing various missions. Go close to the vault and press the interaction key to use a Precision Code Analyzer. It will open the decryption menu where you will have to complete a mini-game.

The mini-game is simple, all you have to do is press the prompted key whenever the Red Line comes over the bright blue area. However, there will be a timer below and you need to press all the buttons before the time runs out.

NOTE: Blocking the vault due to the end of the timer or failing to press the button at the right time will cost you a Precision Code Analyzer.

Upon decrypting the Encrypted Vaults 2 times, the quest will be completed.
