The Legend of Zelda sealed cartridge sold at auction for a record $ 870,000

A rare copy of The Legend of Zelda for the NES was sold at auction at Heritage.

The sealed cartridge became the most expensive collectible in the game, and the game itself set a record for value. Both the previous record held copy of the game Super Mario Bros., which in April 2021 was sold at auction for $660,000.

A sealed copy of the first The Legend of Zelda is up for auction for more than $100,000

The rarity of The Legend of Zelda cartridge is due to the fact that it was released for several months in late 1987, after which Nintendo began production of the updated revision. The copy of the game remained sealed and in excellent condition, the specialists of the auction house emphasized.

The Wata company, which specializes in collectible video games, rated the condition of the cartridge at 9 points out of 10. It is worth noting that the condition of the copy of the Super Mario Bros. game, which held the previous record, was better at 9.6 points.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
