How to Craft Improvised Axe in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria

The Improvised Axe can be crafted pretty early in the game but it does first require you to get a torch and a simple pickaxe to dig your way through the rubble. There are several paths in the depths of Moria blocked by rubble that you can clear with the pickaxe and as you make progress, you will come across a resource called Cloth Scraps. Cloth Scraps are used in various crafting recipes and it is required for crafting the Improvised Axe. All the required resources for the Improvised Axe are the following:

  • 3x Metal Fragments
  • 4x Wood Scraps
  • 2x Cloth Scraps

Metal Fragments can be found on the ground throughout Moria and alternatively, you can find Metal Fragments by breaking the barrels and carts along the path with an axe. Wood Scraps and Cloth Scraps are also scattered on the ground throughout Moria and can be obtained by breaking the wooden furniture.

Upon gathering the required resources, it will grant you the recipe for the Improvised Axe in your Field Crafting. Press the C button to open the Field Crafting Menu and select the Improvised Axe recipe to craft it.

Keep in mind that the Improvised Axe also has durability like any other tools, weapons, and armor in the game. Using the axe will gradually decrease its durability eventually breaking it and requiring you to craft it again. Alternatively, you can also repair it at the Repair Smithy station with Metal Fragments.

Playing Video Games is the very first hobby that I partake in and it became my favorite hobby. Played Unreal Tournament 2004 as my first game which made me a fan of FPS Games. Story and Adventure Games are still my Cup of Tea to go with as they give more detailing to the described worlds and characters. I love to help out my fellow gamers across all over the world by making my publications.
