Tom Nook isn’t greedy, says the director of Animal Crossing: New Horizons

In an interview with the Verge, the director of Animal Crossing: New Horizons says that Toom Nook is not a greedy character in the game.

As you well know, this character has earned the reputation of being greedy that we always have to pay large sums of money to. Memes and taunts towards Nook are always served.

“We think Tom Nook is a very loving and really cool guy,” he says. “He is an adult,” he says, “so he is very careful about money.” “It is one of the greatest motivations that users have to continue playing Animal Crossing and Tom Nook is responsible behind that motivation,” explains the creative.

At the meeting, Aya Kyogoku, the director of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, also shared a few words about Nook. “Even if we borrow money from him and it takes time to pay it back, he never gets angry, he never gets angry,” he says. “So if we could all try to be a little bit more responsible and pay him back, we could make him a little bit happier.”
