US Government appeals to youth to play games at home during COVID-19

In August 2019, after a shooting in El Paso, Texas, the US President, Donald Trump made a statement, in which he partially blamed video games for such events.

“We must stop the glorification of violence in our society. This includes creepy video games that are now common. Today it is too easy for troubled youth to surround themselves with a culture that celebrates violence. We must stop or substantially reduce this. “

Now the United States Government appeals to Youth to stay at home and keep themselves busy playing games.

During a press conference, Dr. Deborah Birx, COVID-19 response coordinator and a member of President Donald Trump’s cabinet said:

I appeal to that generation, which is part of a group that has brought us innovation, particularly for their ability to look around every corner and move through video games. I was always level by level, I never knew you could go from level three to seven. That is what they taught us, to look for things that we cannot see. They need to be healthy.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
