Windrose: How to Sell Items

Exploring the world in Windrose will let you pick up all sorts of items, including the ones that you cannot really use, rather than sell. Items like Provisions, Munitions, Contrabands, and so on are all miscellaneous items in Windrose. These items do not have a significant use other than selling to a corresponding buyer. This is where things get tricky: who is the buyer, and where can you find him? In this guide, we will tell you how to sell items in Windrose.

How to Sell Items in Windrose

Selling items in Windrose is not as simple as it sounds. You cannot sell the miscellaneous items to any vendor you run into. Some miscellaneous items are for increasing your reputation with the available factions. You can find the Provisioner and Bounty Agent NPCs at Tortuga, but they do not buy miscellaneous items from you. To sell the items, which you most sack from the ships in the water, you have to visit the actual island of the factions. Each faction island will have up to 3 Buyers (vendors) who will purchase corresponding miscellaneous items from you.

Possible Items to Sell at Each Faction

Every time you pick up the miscellaneous items, their description will mention the faction name where you can sell them.

• Provisions are sold to the People of Tortuga (Not Tortuga place).
• Munitions are sold to the Buccaneers.
• Contrabands are sold to the Smugglers.
• Naval Supplies are sold to the Brethren of the Coast.

People of Tortuga, Buccaneers, Smugglers, and Brethren of the Coast are four available factions in Windrose. Each Faction has its own separate island that you can find and reach by pursuing the main story and side quests.

NOTE: There are no specific locations for the factions’ islands, as they spawn procedurally for everybody.

Find the Buyer at Faction Island to Sell the Items

Now, to sell the items, you should know which items you are looking to sell and then head to the corresponding faction’s island to sell them. For instance, if you want to sell Provisions, you need to head to the People of Tortuga Faction’s Island.

NOTE: People of Tortuga Island and Tortuga are two different locations.

Once you are at the faction’s island, you need to look for a “Buyer” vendor. This NPC will buy the corresponding miscellaneous items for the faction from you. There are about three Buyer vendors on the faction’s island. You can sell the items to any Buyer. The procedure for selling the items is straightforward. Select the items and then press Space to confirm the action.

It is a bit strange mechanic to sell items in Windrose, and we probably think that the Devs might add the Buyers from every faction to the central hub, “Tortuga”, in future updates.
