The Flare Light is one of the exclusive artifacts in the Cost of Hope DLC in STALKER 2. Unlike other artifacts that you normally find in the wild, acquiring the Flare Light requires you to complete a side mission, The Forgetting. You can begin this mission once you have reached the CNPP region. Moreover, it is recommended to complete it as early as possible to get rid of the Flare Anomalies around the Zone. In this guide, we will explain how to get the Flare Light Artifact in STALKER 2: Cost of Hope.

How to Get the Flare Light Artifact in STALKER 2: Cost of Hope

To acquire the Flare Light artifact, you must complete the Forgetting side mission. During this mission, you will arrive at the Ventilation Stack by taking a portal. Here, you will meet Otter, a mysterious NPC. In the initial encounter, tell him that you will help him to get on with the quest. As the conversation ends, Otter will give you 1 of 5 Flickering Flare artifacts. To get through the rest of the quest, you must get all 5 Flickering Flare artifacts scattered around the Iron Forest and CNPP regions. After getting the artifacts, equip them in your suit.

NOTE: Upgrade the suit if it does not have 5 artifact slots.

Get the Flare Time from the Destroyed Generators

Once done, you have to make your way to the destroyed generators above the Water Treatment Facility. This whole sequence requires a lot of platforming. It is better to save manually during this platforming to not lose a lot of progress. After reaching the roof of the facility, you have to get the Flare Time artifact, which will be on the debris of Generator 6. Again, this part is all about platforming and avoiding the Flare.

After picking up the authentic Flare Time artifact, you can jump down on the gravitational anomalies to go back down. From here, go back to the Ventilation Stack to store the artifact in a safe for Otter.

NOTE: It is the same safe in which you can find the Rifled Barrel (unique weapon).

Confront Otter

Once done, head to the Freight Yard to take the portal to MAB. Here, you will get to confront Otter and defeat him. Go up to the second level and interact with the door to confront Otter. Defeat Otter and loot his body to get the Flare Light artifact.
