Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War details improvements to PS5 and Xbox Series X

Activision reveals how much space it will take to preload Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on all platforms

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War will be one of the games that are free to update to PS5 and Xbox Series X and will have significant improvements in the new generation.

Activision has unveiled the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, an installment that will bridge the gap between the current and new generation. On November 13 it will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PC and we assume that Xbox Series X / S ( knowing that the consoles come out on the 10th ). It will also be on PS5, depending on the day the console goes on sale. In both cases, you can upgrade for free from the current one to the new generation.

During today’s presentation, Activision has also detailed the gameplay improvements on these new consoles (and PCs with enough power). Of course, it will work at 4K with HDR (High Dynamic Range). In addition, it will support 120 Hz for reduced latency that will offer smoother gameplay.

The game will also make use of DirectX Raytracing, and in the case of PS5, it will also make use of 3D sound, which increases the immersion and improves our orientation in the environment. In addition, a system has been worked on that assigns priority to various sounds during the battle, to ensure that players hear the sounds that are most useful to them.

On PS5 we will also enjoy functions that take advantage of the vibration of the controller, the haptic feedback that serves to “offer the most tactile combat experience”.

Finally, the next-generation consoles will make use of an improved ballistic physics system that will make it easier to identify the source and distance of enemy fire.

In another vein, Activision has also confirmed that, as was the case with Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War will be integrated into Call of Duty Warzone, maintaining the same progression while integrating narrative elements.
