CD Projekt Red triples profits from The Witcher 3 with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077: company announces record profits in 2020

CYBERPUNK 2077 SOLD MORE THAN 13 MILLION UNITS IN 2020

The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 can get all kinds of adjectives, but after hearing about the recent financial report from CD Projekt Red, a new qualifier joins the list: lucrative … a lot.

It is already known how the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was, but there was still no first preview of what this premiere had meant for the coffers of CD Projekt Red. Well, it has not been so disastrous at a monetary level and that is, the earnings of the Polish company in 2020 have exceeded all expectations.

According to a report, CD Projekt Red’s 2020 earnings and preliminary profits have surpassed figures that go far beyond its tremendous success in 2015 with the launch of the award-winning The Witcher 3. Cyberpunk 2077’s hype anticipated a great year for the Poles, at least economically, but, once again, the forecasts have fallen short.

CD Projekt generated PLN 2.14 billion (approximately € 470 million) in consolidated sales revenue. This is a figure four times higher than in 2019 and more than two times higher than the company’s record registered in 2015 with the premiere of The Witcher 3: 798 million PLN (175 million euros).

In terms of net profits, the company recorded PLN 1.15 billion (€ 252 million), triple the record for that same 2015, which was set at PLN 342 million (€ 75 million). Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad, known for his reporting within the industry, exemplified this data very well with a simple graph, which puts Cyberpunk 2077 in perspective.

However, despite these gains, now it’s time to wonder if CD Projekt Red will have an equally positive 2021. The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 may have been an economic bombshell, but it has also generated a lot of bad press for the studio and earned backlash from the consumer. Mass returns, withdrawal from the PlayStation Store, and all kinds of problems. Will this affect sales in 2021? Of course, it has already been communicated that CD Projekt will continue to support Cyberpunk 2077 for the next few years.

How to solve the doll workshop puzzle

The Doll Workshop is a massive multi-step puzzle, all centering on a full-size doll that looks suspiciously like Ethan’s long-lost wife, Rose. Before proceeding, find these three key elements by interacting with the doll.

  • Get the Silver Key: Interact with the Rose doll on the table in the middle of the Doll Workshop. Remove your right hand, then interact with your right arm – you’ll remove a piece and reveal the hidden silver key.
  • Get the winding key: Interact with the left leg of the Rose doll. Remove the leg and you will find the hidden rope key. We won’t use this until much later.
  • Get the Blood Covered Ring: Next, interact with Rose’s Left-Hand doll. You will be able to remove the ring covered in blood.

Doll Workshop Lock Code: Use the silver key to open the engine room door in the Doll Workshop.

  • In the engine room, use the sink on the left. Turn on the water, then use the blood-covered ring on the sink to clean it. Now you can examine the wedding ring and discover the numbers [ to 05-29-11 ].
  • Enter the code into the lock on the exit door of the Doll Workshop room.

Storage room puzzle: Go to the storage room and use the string key on the music box. Change the cylinders so that the stripes line up; start by lining up the left / right sides and work your way in. Use the image above to get the exact combination.

  • Get the Tweezers: Tap the music box with the cylinders in the correct position to get the tweezers.
  • Get the movie: Use the tweezers on the Rose doll in the Doll Workshop: interact with the mouth and you will get the movie.

Studio Movie Puzzle: Go to the studio and use the movie on the movie projector. Change the film so that the images are in this order, from left to right.

  • Stuffed animal
  • Black fairy tale book
  • Image of Rosemary (Baby)
  • Music Box
  • Wedding ring

Get the scissors: Put the movie in order and play the projector. A secret door will open in the study. Go inside to collect the scissors.

  • Get the Brass Locket: Use the scissors on the bandages blocking the way in the secret room. Go back to the doll workshop and use the scissors on the Rose doll’s chest to remove the bandages.

Doll Workshop Medallion Puzzle: Go down the hall in the doll workshop and use the bronze medallion on the door. Now you need to interact with the other two medallions and select the correct symbol.

  • Upper left symbol: A crow flying, looking to the right. You will find this symbol in the eye of the Rose doll.
  • Bottom symbol: Three closed eyes. You will find this symbol on the right arm of the Rose doll.

After completing the puzzle, you will gain access to the well. Collect the key at the bottom of the well and, on the way back, you will have to deal with a very terrifying threat. The rest of this area is linear, but it’s also ridiculously scary. Don’t be too scared. Good luck.

Resident Evil Village: Every Easter Egg We’ve Found (So Far)

Resident Evil Village: Every Easter Egg We've Found (So Far)

There is still time for references, even in a game as terrifying as Resident Evil Village. In the first hours of Village, we have more references to past games than we expected, and we are talking about the classic entries of the series. There are tiny, easy-to-lose Easter eggs at Ethan’s house in the prologue, and the references continue from there. We will do our best to list them all, so keep an eye out for this space. We will add anything else that belongs to the category of Easter eggs.

Resident Evil Village It may not look like it, but this is a direct sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. After moving his family to Europe, Ethan’s life is once again interrupted by Chris Redfield: his wife is killed and their son kidnapped. Armed with nothing but your wits, you will have to survive a new nightmare reality in a secluded village guarded by four mad lords. To save his family, he will have to kill them all. This is a very different Resident Evil, sharing a surprising amount of similarities to RE4, the highest-rated game in the series’ history. And yes, there is an Easter egg related to travel. RE4 trader.

Joseph Kendo and George Trevor

Right at the beginning of the game, you are in Ethan’s new house with his wife and son. The house is pretty free of references – you won’t see any images of Barry (or a Tyrant) on the walls, but there are only two main references Resident Evil fans will notice. Upstairs, there are two optional rooms that you can explore – one is the storage room, the other is the office, both have bookshelves that you can browse.

The storage room has a shelf with this description; “A Historical Look at the Architecture of Eastern European Castles and Fortresses by George Trevor,” which is a name fan will recognize. George Trevor is the same George Trevor who built and designed the Spencer Mansion from Resident Evil 1. In the later released remake, George Trevor’s descendant Lisa Trevor was featured as an unstoppable monster chasing you down the hallways. Trevor isn’t the only famous character referenced in the house!

Go to the office behind the bedroom and examine the bookshelf there. You will find this description; “Gun Survivalist: A Handbook of Heavy Firearms for Field Combat Situations by Joseph Kendo”, and we should all remember it. Robert Kendo is the owner of the Kendo Gun Shop, one of the first places you visit in the original. Resident Evil 2 . In Resident Evil 2 Remake, we have a little scene with Kendo and his daughter. Joseph Kendo is Robert Kendo’s brother and they are both in the gun business. They are the ones who developed the exclusive Samurai Edge pistols!

Joe Kendo never appears in any game, so how do we know he exists? Well, he’s the creator of Leon’s gun in RE4 – where he has his own gun store in San Francisco. It seems that Joe Kendo is still strong in Counter.

What are you buying?

There is a mysterious new merchant on the block. When Ethan Winters arrives at Dimitrescu Castle, the Merchant is the only friendly face you’ll meet for a long time. This extremely large man fills all the spaces he finds himself in and has a few things to say. Sell weapon upgrades, healing items, ammo, parts, and more. It’s basically like the RE4 trader!

And that is confirmed with a small Easter egg. After a few visits, the merchant will yell “What are you buying?” – a known line of the merchant in RE4. The RE8 Merchant says it’s something an old friend of his used to say. It’s a cute little reference to a fan-favorite character from the best game in the series. Now I really want RE4 Merchant to return. Maybe he can be your friendly provider in a DLC episode? Come on Capcom!

Work in progress(Bookmark this page): Check back soon for more Easter eggs and references!
