CD Projekt Says It Will Defend “Strongly” From Investors’ Cyberpunk 2077 Lawsuit

Rumored Sony Acquisition of CD Projekt RED Proven False: Here's the Truth

The creators of Cyberpunk 2077 respond to affirm the hoax accusations they are facing by investor lawsuit.

CD Projekt RED, the Polish developer behind The Witcher game saga, and its latest release Cyberpunk 2077 seem to understand better than anyone that its premiere has been a fiasco for the console public. But not that it constitutes a violation of federal laws, for that reason they comment that they will defend themselves “fiercely” in the class-action lawsuit for the version of the game for PS4 and Xbox One.

The lawsuit alleges that CD Projekt misled its investors about the quality of Cyberpunk 2077 prior to its launch in December. In particular, the lawsuit claims the company also cheated financially on gambling deposits and that inquired into losses, according to Bloomberg . The lawsuit was filed by the Rosen Law Firm, due to the alleged violation of federal securities laws.

The lawsuit asks the court to determine whether CD Projekt intentionally hid its problems to provoke fraud among investors, causing losses to those individuals. The damages, according to Bloomberg, were not specified in the lawsuit meaning the court will be left to determine whether to find in favor of the plaintiff.

“The company that created Cyberpunk 2077 states that it will vigorously defend itself after the lawsuit filed by investors against the company, alleging that they allegedly misled these individuals by incurring losses for them, ” reported Bloomberg.

Said lawsuit also affirms that deposits – shares of a foreign company that operates in the American one – fell 25% three days after the game went on sale. Those same deposits tumbled another 16% when Sony pulled the game from the PS Store, Bloomberg reports. The company took that action after CDPR promised refunds to anyone who wanted them, as a measure of apology to the public for the state of the game.

At the moment, the problem is still present on consoles especially on PS4 and Xbox One while many PC gamers seem to be happy with the result; despite the fact that it continues to present bugs and failures.
