Diablo IV: How to Complete Burning from Within Quest

Season of Malignant begins once players have completed the Diablo IV campaign at the Eternal Realm. Make sure to complete the storyline of Diablo IV to unlock the quests to pursue the story of Season of Malignant. The players who have completed the campaign with any character for once can skip the campaign while creating the new character and jump right straight into the Season of Malignant storyline. The very first quest of Season of Malignant is “Burning from Within” which will introduce the players to a new item known as “Malignant Hearts”.

This guide will cover all the objectives of the Burning from Within quest that players will have to complete to progress in the storyline of Season of Malignant, Diablo IV.

Burning from Within – Quest Walkthrough

To get started with the story of Season of Malignant, players must start its first main quest “Burning from Within”. All objectives of the quest are described down below. Follow through the steps to complete the quest.

Starting the Quest

To get the Burning from Within quest, players will have to go to Kyovashad town in the Fractured Peaks region. It is the very first town that players unlock in the main storyline so probably it will be available for fast travel. Upon teleporting to Kyovashad, talk to an NPC named “Vytran” standing next to the Waypoint of the town.

Vytran will tell you about a woman turning into a monster outside the city.

Look for Survivors on the Road

After talking to Vytran, take the western gate to go out of the city and go toward the Menestad. There will be several enemies along the way so feel free to take them out to gain XP and level up your new character. Just before reaching the gates of Menestad, an instance of “Forest Clearing” will appear on the east side that you need to go in to kill the Strange Demon.

Slay the Strange Demon

Upon entering the Forest Clearing, go ahead on the path to find a survivor trapped by Strange Demon. The strange demon is the new enemy type, Malignant Monster and it is tougher than the regular elite enemies. Use the abilities to slay the monster and make sure to use the Dodge ability to evade its attacks.

Upon defeating the Strange Demon, you will get your first Malignant Heart of the season.

Speak with Cormond at the Wagon

After defeating the Strange Demon, the survivor will ask you to meet him at his Wagon by the road. Leave Forest Clearing and Cormond will be waiting for you at his wagon. Interact with Cormond to learn about Malignant Monsters. After talking to him, you need to interact with Cormond’s Chest to take a Bag of Cages.

Speak with Cormond to get more information about Malignant Hearts and a Bag of Cages and after the conversation, the quest will be concluded.
