Diablo IV: How to Complete Chapter 1 of Seasonal Journey

The storyline of the Season of Malignant is intertwined with the Seasonal Quests that players must complete. However, these seasonal quests have their own unique unlock requirements, which are linked to progression in the Seasonal Journey. The Seasonal Journey necessitates the completion of several challenges in each chapter to earn Favors, which in turn allows players to advance in the Battle Pass and earn rewards. There are seven chapters in the Seasonal Journey that players must complete to earn Favors and unlock Seasonal Quests for the Season of Malignant.

The third Seasonal Quest, Holding Back the Flood, requires players to complete Chapters 1 & 2 of the Seasonal Journey to unlock it. There is no other way to reveal the storyline of the Season of Malignant without completing these quests. Therefore, players must complete the challenges in both chapters to proceed with the quest.

In this guide, we will be telling you how to complete Chapter 1 of Seasonal Journey in Diablo IV.

How to Complete Chapter 1 of Seasonal Journey

The progression of the Seasonal Journey differs slightly from the game’s regular quests. Unlike the standard quests, the challenges will not be marked on the map. Players must therefore check the required challenges in the Seasonal Journey under the Season Tab in the main menu. The first chapter of the Seasonal Journey consists of 9 Challenges in total, and to complete this chapter, players only need to complete 7 challenges. This is because a bar at the completion of 7 challenges marks the completion of the first chapter. However, if players wish to earn the Legendary Aspect through each chapter, they must complete all the challenges.

All challenges in Chapter 1 of the Seasonal Journey are as follows, and players must complete any 7 to complete the chapter:

• The Hangman’s Garden: Collect 15x Gallowvine. Gallowvines are found all over the world.
• Heart of Corruption: Collect a Malignant Heart. Players will get their first Malignant Heart while doing the starting quest of Season 1. However, players must finish or skip the main Campaign to start the quest.
• Den of Evil: Complete any Dungeon found on the map.
• Trouble in the Wilds: Complete a World Event found on the map.
• Into the Frozen Dark: Complete any 3 Dungeons in the Fractured Peaks region.
• What Lurks Below: Complete a Cellar.
• Kind Stranger: Complete any 5 Priority or Side Quests.
• Keeper of the Keys: Collect a Whispering Key. It can be bought from the Purveyor of Curiosities.
• Waste Not: Salvage 10 normal items at the Blacksmith.

Rewards for Completing 1st Chapter

Upon completing the challenges, players will get a certain reward. All the rewards that players will get from completing the 1st Chapter of the Seasonal Journey are the following:

• Greater Favor
• First Journey Cache
• Aspect of Ancestral Charge
• Subterranean Aspect
• Aspect of Gore Quills
• Aspect of Pestilent Points
• Aspect of Searing Wards

After completing the 1st Chapter of the Seasonal Journey, players can move on to Chapter 2 of the Seasonal Journey to complete its challenges.
