Disney Dreamlight Valley: Pixel Perfect update brings new content for players to pursue, allowing them to bring Ralph to the Valley, progress the new Star Path, earn exclusive new cosmetics, and more. In addition to the new content, there are some new improvements to the old features of the game. One of the highlight improvements is the Best Friends mechanic. The Devs have improved the regular Friendship feature with the Best Friends feature when a villager reaches Level 10 Friendship. A Best Friend provides more benefits than a regular friend. This is the complete guide to the Best Friends feature in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Unlock the Best Friend Feature in Disney Dreamlight Valley

There is no specific requirement to unlock the Best Friend feature itself, as it is available for all players from the get-go. However, the Devs did introduce a new quest for Merlin specifically to teach players about the new Best Friend feature and its benefits. This new quest is “The Magic of Friendship!” and players can pursue it by speaking with Merlin. Alternatively, you can explore the Best Friend feature on your own and experience the new options.

What is the Item Assist & How it Works

ask a level 7 or higher villager to collect an item for you

The Item Assist is the first benefit that you can ask for from the Best Friends. Once a villager has reached Level 7 or higher, you can ask them to collect items for you per day. Go to any villager with a Level 7 Friendship or higher and speak with them. It will give you the “Can you help me find something?” option, alongside other options. Select this new dialogue option, and this will open a menu with all of the items that the corresponding villager can find for you. Select any one item from the menu, and the villager will tell you that they will have it the next day.

NOTE: You must wait until the next day to retrieve the item from the villager.

On the next day, go to the villager and speak with them to collect your requested items. However, the number of requested items that a villager collects is random and depends on the villager’s specialty. If a villager has a role of fishing, they cannot help you gather gems or other minerals. You must change their roles by giving them the corresponding Training Manuals.

All Level 10 Best Friend Benefits in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Once you level up a villager to Level 10 Friendship, a couple of new Best Friend benefits unlock. These are Fast Travel to Best Friend and Best Friend Glow.

Fast Travel to Best Friend

select the best friend on the map to fast travel to them

Similar to the regular fast travel to a wishing well across the Valley, you can select a Best Friend on the map to teleport to them. However, this benefit only becomes available at Level 10 Friendship with the villager.

Best Friend Glow

The Best Friend Glow benefit is a big one. When a villager is at Level 10 Friendship, they attain a special Best Friend Progress Bar. Fill up the Glow Progress Bar by giving them their favorite gifts, having daily discussions, or hanging out with them casually. Once the bar is full, the villager will have a Best Friend Glow on them. Now, you can ask them for Best Friend Hangout.

During the Best Friend Hangout, the villager will get bonus items for all of your tasks, and if you glide or sprint, it consumes the Glow Progress Bar instead of the player’s Energy. The bonus items during the Best Friend Hangout contribute to all professions. It does not matter that the villager has a fishing role; they will provide bonus items for mining, digging, foraging, and so on.

Now, each villager’s Best Friend Glow can be activated once per day. Moreover, the Best Friend Hangout lasts until the Glow Progress Bar runs out. If you use sprint often, you might end the Best Friend Hangout more quickly than you intended. Make use of the bonuses wisely to last the hangout longer.

Playing Video Games is the very first hobby that I partake in and it became my favorite hobby. Played Unreal Tournament 2004 as my first game which made me a fan of FPS Games. Story and Adventure Games are still my Cup of Tea to go with as they give more detailing to the described worlds and characters. I love to help out my fellow gamers across all over the world by making my publications.
