The Magic of Friendship Quest Guide in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Magic of Friendship is a brand-new quest for Merlin in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This new friendship quest was added with the recent Pixel Perfect update. As the new update brings a lot of new improvements to the old systems, especially friendship, this quest introduces the Best Friends mechanics to the player. During this quest, Merlin will ask the player to test out the “collect an item” and “best friend glow” features. In this guide, we will walk you through the Magic of Friendship quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Complete the Magic of Friendship Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Magic of Friendship quest becomes available once you have at least one villager with Friendship Level 10. It does not matter who the villager is; the quest will appear in the quest log. There are a number of ways you can increase the Friendship Level with a villager. Do daily discussions, hang out with them, and give them their favorite gifts to increase the Friendship Level with the villager. Once the quest is available, speak with Merlin to get the introduction on “Item Assist” mechanic.

Ask a Level 7 or higher Villager to collect an item for you

Go to a Level 7 or a higher-level villager that you have and speak with them. As the dialogue option appears, select the “Can you help me find something?” option. This will open a menu with all of the items that the corresponding villager can find for you. Select any one item from the menu, and the villager will tell you that they will have it the next day.

NOTE: You must wait until the next day to retrieve the item from the villager.

On the next day, go to the same villager and speak with them to collect the item.

Ask Merlin and hang out with a villager

Now, go back to Merlin and ask him what is next for the friendship journey. He will ask you to hang out with a Level 10 villager to experience the best friend glow mechanic. Go to one of your Level 10 villagers and fill up the Glow Progress Bar by giving them their favorite gifts, daily discussions, or hanging out with them casually. Once the bar is full, the villager will have a Best Friend Glow on them. Now, you can ask them for Best Friend Hangout.

During the Best Friend Hangout, the villager will get bonus items for all of your tasks, and if you glide or sprint, it consumes the Glow Progress Bar instead of the player’s Energy.

Once you are done hanging out with a villager, go back to Merlin. Speak with Merlin and go through the dialogue to conclude the quest.
