Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Complete the Diamond in the Rough Quest

Disney Dreamlight Valley - Diamond in the Rough quest

Pursuing the main Expansion Questline in Disney Dreamlight Valley will soon bring players to meet with Gaston in the Glittering Dunes biome. Upon meeting with Gaston, players will get to initiate his starting quests which are essential for both progressing ahead in the expansion storyline and unlocking Gaston as a villager. The final quest for Gaston is the Diamond in the Rough requiring players to open the entrance to the Cave of Wonders and get the Jewel of Time hidden within it.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to complete the Diamond in the Rough Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Complete the Diamond in the Rough Quest

The Diamond in the Rough quest starts after completing the Wild Tangle’s Swarm for Gaston. With both Desert Scarab Piece and Jungle Scarab Piece in your inventory, go to Gaston and ask him about the assembling of Scarab Key. After that, a Scarab’s trail will show up and you need to follow it to reach and open the Cave of Wonders. Enter the Cave of Wonders and you need to solve the puzzles to surpass each room to open a linear path toward a statue.

There are two main doors inside the Cave of Wonders that players need to unlock by guiding the light on the sides of the doors. The lights are powered up by the Coils and guided by using the switches. You will be able to find 2 Power Coils within the Cave of Wonder, each for one door puzzle and you have to set the switches in a specific order to open the doors.

Upon unlocking both of the doors, walk along the open path to come across the statue. Interacting with the statue will give you the Jewel of Time and after that, you can exit the Cave of Wonders using the teleporter to talk to Gaston outside the cave to conclude the quest.

Completing the Diamond in the Rough quest will give the following rewards to the players.

  • Lefou Coconut Bust (Furniture Item)
  • Unlocks Gaston as a villager
