DREDGE – How to Catch Crabs
The Crabs can be found in any water on the map but they require a different strategy than all of the other fish. Players will have to catch crabs for the Fishmonger as a main Pursuit of the game. Once players have caught the Grey Eel and the Squids for Fishmonger, he will have a new order of crabs that you will have to get for Fishmonger.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to catch Crabs in DREDGE.
Get Crab Pot
The Crabs can only be caught in Carb Pots. You cannot catch the crabs with your fishing rods, you will have to lay out the Crab Pots in different water around the map to get the Crabs. However, you will have to remember the location where you put the Crab Pots otherwise, you will not get to catch them.
In order to get the Crab Pots, you will have to complete the first two pursuits of Fishmonger. Once you have done that, Fishmonger will give you a Crab Pot for free in order to catch the Crabs and he will also open up a stock for the Crab Pots in his store and you will be able to buy more Crab Pots from him. Each Crab Pot will cost $100.

Catching Crabs
Once you have the Crab Pot, you will unlock the “Crab Pot” ability. You can use this ability by holding the LB Button and then changing the item to Crab Pot to throw it at your desired location. Move the ship to a certain spot where you want to catch the crabs and then use the Crab Pot ability to throw the pot. The Pot is marked with a Green Light that can be seen from a distance so, you don’t forget where you threw the pot.

Now, you will have to wait for at least two days in the game. You can pass the time by moving your boat or you can just sleep at the dock of a town for two days. Once the required time has passed, go back to the location of the Crab Pot and interact with it to see whether the Crab Pot has Crabs inside or not. If there are no crabs then wait for an additional day. If there are crabs in the Crab Pot, move the crabs to your Cargo to store them and you will be able to give them to Fishmonger or sell them.
