FFXIV Endwalker: The Wise – Job Guide
Final Fantasy XIV has traditionally received two new classes with its latest expansion, Endwalker. The Sage / Sage is a new class of healers who go into battle with Noulithen. Nouliths are four magical krastille with which the sage can heal or destroy. Read on to find out what makes the sage so special.
Unlock wiser: Here’s how
To unlock the sage, you need two things: firstly, you must have the “Endwalker” expansion, and secondly, you need a warrior or magician at level 70. If you have all the requirements, you can go to the port city of Lima Lominsa. Talk to the “woman from the north” who is on the lower decks (X: 9.4 Y: 12.9) to accept the job quest.
The friendly Miqote explains that she is looking for escorts and needs someone who is familiar with Eorzea. After you have accepted the quest, speak in the next quest step again with the lady who is now at the gates of the port city. Here you will get the appropriate equipment and the job crystal with which you will unlock the sage class.
This is how the wise man plays
The wise, along with the scholar, belong to the barrier healers. While you also have the tools to heal your allies up, white mages and astrologers are much more efficient at this. Your real strength is to mitigate incoming damage from powerful protective shields.
The core ability of the sage is cardia. This is an enchantment that you can place on a group member. The targeted group member then receives the Buff Kardion. If you cause damage with an ability, the other player is healed by a certain percentage. As a result, the wise man can theoretically cause more damage than the other healer classes.
AOE-heal to eucratic diagnosis and eucratic prognosis. The improved spells no longer require preparation time and grant your allies a protective shield that absorbs damage equal to 180 percent of the healing effect.
Tip for aspiring wise men: To get a deeper understanding of how to play, just follow the Job Quest series. Right at the beginning, you will have to complete a dungeon with your teacher in which you will be explained step by step the most important skills of the sage.

Job bar and resource management of the wise
The wise man has two resources that he can use to hone his skills. The humor attribute gives access to the humor bar. The bar fills up on its own at regular intervals and gives you a sense of humor. A total of up to three humor can be collected, which are used for the spells Druochole, Taurochole, Ixochole, and Kerachole.
- Druochole: Regenerates a target’s HP and regenerates seven percent of their own maximum MP.
- Taurochole: Regenerates a target’s HP, reduces damage taken by ten percent and regenerates seven percent of one’s maximum MP.
- Ixochole: Regenerates HP of nearby group members and regenerates seven percent of your own maximum MP.
- Kerachole: Reduces damage to surrounding group members by ten percent, steadily regenerates target HP and regenerates seven percent of one’s own maximum MP.
The second resource of the sage is complexion. As with humor, a total of three complexions can be held. You get a complexion when the barrier created by Eucratic Diagnosis has absorbed the full damage. With complexion, the spell Toxicon can be used, which causes massive damage to the target and the surrounding enemies.
