Frank Woods' voice actor in the previous CoD: Black Ops has confirmed that he will not return to his role in Cold War

On August 26, Activision officially announced Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, a direct sequel to the original Black Ops set in the 1980s Cold War.

Among the old characters in Cold War, among others, Frank Woods will appear – one of the main characters of the first part of Black Ops, who also occurs in Black Ops 2 in two time periods, as well as in the fourth part as an operator.

In previous installments, Woods was voiced by actor James S. Burns, but as it turns out, he will not return to his role in Black Ops Cold War. The actor confirmed this in one of his recent videos, where he answered questions from fans.

Burns said he didn’t know the exact reasons why Treyarch decided to choose a new actor for Woods, but he said he was confident he would do a great job.

I hate to criticize whoever voiced it, but he doesn’t have the experience with Woods that I do. I spent 11 years with this guy, I know his background.

Some users think that this may be due to Burns’ work on the character for the fan map of the Zombies mode, but later the actor himself stated that this was definitely not the case.

Apparently, Activision has decided to completely renew the cast of the Black Ops Cold War. In addition to Frank Woods, other old heroes will have new actors, including Alex Mason and Jason Hudson.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released on November 13 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will also launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
