Hogwarts Legacy: How to Open Arithmancy Doors

One of the things that you will notice pretty early in the game is the doors with different symbols on the side of them. These are called the Arithmancy Doors and these doors can only be opened by solving a puzzle. Each door holds at least two chests behind it which will give you gear items as well as Galleon Gold.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to open the Arithmancy Doors in Hogwarts Legacy.

Key to Solve the Arithmancy Door Puzzles

There is a total of 11 Arithmancy Doors in Hogwarts and you will see them as you explore different areas and sections of Hogwarts. The main thing that you need to know about solving these puzzles is that there are two diagram numbers that you need to put in the “?” and “??”. These two will be close to each Arithmancy Door in Hogwarts. Once you go near Arithmancy Door, you will see a number is written and a Diagram of an animal or vice versa. You need to put the answer that simplifies the total number written in the middle of the triangles.

Now, if you have got the idea of putting the correct shape in the “?” and “??”, you need to find out which animal presents which number. In order to learn that, you need to make your way to the Library Annex area where you can find a Floo Flame named “Divination Classroom”. If you are having trouble, you can look through the map or just simply go to the Central Hall and make your way up the stairs. From there, go to the left side and go up on the round staircase to discover the Divination Classroom Floo Flame.

Once you are there, you need to head to the room next to the Floo Flame and go on the wooden platform. Turn right ahead to see one more Arithmancy Door. Now, this Arithmancy Door will have a chest near the Blackboard that you need to loot and it will give you a Note of “Arithmancy Study Guide Page”.

Use Arithmancy Study Note to Solve Puzzles

Once you have the Arithmancy Note, it will be stored in your inventory and you can see it anytime you want. Just go into the inventory and select the Quest Items to find the note. Open the Note to view all the Animals and the number they represent.

All you have to do is just go to the Arithmancy door and see what number it requires in “?” and “??” to match the number in the middle of the Triangles. Then you just have to put that animal shape in the switches near the Arithmancy Door to open the door.

It does require you to do some math practice so make sure to keep your mind sharp as you do it.
