Honkai: Star Rail is a Role-Playing Gacha game that would allow players to create their preferable team to take down their enemies. As there are more than 20 playable characters in Honkai: Star Rail, there can be a lot of confusion in building the team because there are several things that have to be kept in mind while building the team. Players would have to consider the best DPS character along with a Support and a healer character as well to build a team with full potential.

However, it can be a lot to digest for new players or who are not familiar with the playstyle of the characters. Not all 5 Stars or 4 Stars characters make a good team but finding the characters with more versatility makes one. If players make a team with all 5 Star characters, it might not work efficiently in higher difficult battles or against elite enemies and bosses. So, players would have to consider all of the possible options at their disposal before making their final team.

In this Tier List guide for the best characters, we’ll be highlighting all the best characters from the high tiers to the low tiers.

Tier List for Best Characters in Honkai: Star Rail

We have created the Tier List for the best characters of version 1.1 in Honkai: Star Rail by analyzing their versatility and playstyle. All of the characters are set according to their DPS, Support, and Healer playstyle in a team. The following tier list is represented in a simple table to give you a general idea of the characters and you can also find an explanation for each of the characters beneath the table.

S-Tier Characters in Honkai: Star Rail

All the explanations of each character in the S-Tier are described in the following table.

Bronya	5-Star	Wind	Bronya can grant a buffed ally another turn which can make a huge impact in the fight. She will give extremely offensive buffs to the whole party as well as defensive buffs at the very start of the battle.
Bailu	5-Star	Lightning	Bailu is the best healer when it comes to healing as she is capable of reviving a downed character in the battle. Having her in the party will greatly increase survivability.
Gepard	5-Star	Ice	Gepard is a tank character whose attack is increased by his defense on each turn. As Gepard is an Ice Elemental character, he can freeze the enemies as well as provide shields for the allies. Gepard can withstand a single knockdown in the battle which also allows him to restore his energy to full.
Seele	5-Star	Quantum	Seele is one of the best DPS characters in the game as she deals the highest damage on a single target. Having the highest base speed in the game, allows her to have an extra turn.
Luocha	5-Star	Imaginary	Loucha is one of the best support characters in the game as he holds the ability to provide healing that directly scales from his ATK. He also scales his ultimate ability with ATK, allowing him to deal an immense amount of damage to enemies.
Jing Yuan	5-Star	Lightning	Jing Yuan holds a special place in dealing damage to multiple enemies in a single turn. He is one of the best AoE damage-dealing characters in the game and his lightning elemental attacks make a huge role in it.
Tingyun	4-Star	Lightning	Tingyun buff allies that allow them to deal additional lightning damage to enemies.

Clara	5-Star	Physical	Clara is a tank character that reduces the damage taken from enemies and allows her to counterattack enemies. Her ability allows her to increase the damage on counterattacks.
Welt	5-Star	Imaginary	Welt is one of the best support characters that can fit into any team build. His ability allows him to slow down enemies and break their toughness as well as increase the damage that enemies take.
Trailblazer	5-Star	Fire	Trailblazer Fire is one of the best defensive characters in the game. His ability allows him to taunt the enemies which reduces the incoming damage. He can also provide shields for the allies that increase the survivability of them.
Yanqing	5-Star	Ice	Yanqing is the only ice DPS character in the game and he can deal the maximum amount of damage to single targets as well as strike them with follow-up attacks.
Asta	4-Star	Fire	Asta is a supporting character that provides both offensive and supportive buffs to the party. Her abilities allow her to deal damage on her own to enemies that are weak against the Fire.
Silver Wolf	5-Star	Quantum	Silver Wolf applies debuffs and elemental weaknesses on enemies and allows the rest of the party to take advantage of it.
Natasha	4-Star	Physical	Natasha is a healer and can heal an ally during the battle while providing healing over time. Her ultimate allows her to heal the entire team and also dispel the debuffs.
Pela	4-Star	Ice	Pela inflicts defensive debuffs on the party as well as dispel enemy buffs. Her dispel ability allows her to deal more damage to the debuffed enemies.

B-Tier Characters in Honkai: Star Rail

Hook	4-Star	Fire	Hook is a DPS character that specializes in fire and deals fire damage to enemies. Burning enemies take more damage from her and her ultimate allows her to act sooner in the turn order. She is greatly effective in taking down elite enemies and bosses.
Himeko	5-Star	Fire	Himeko has the highest base attack in the game and she can target multiple enemies and perform follow-up attacks on them.
Dan Heng	4-Star	Wind	Dan Heng slows down the enemies which allows him to deal even more damage to debuffed enemies.
Yukong	4-Star	Imaginary	Yukong is a supporting character that allows her to create more opportunities for the team to use their ultimates and provide them with more ATK%, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG buffs.
Sushang	4-Star	Physical	Sushang deals a great amount of damage to enemies and she can even enhance that by using her buff that enhances her damage output and speed.
Serval	4-Star	Lightning	Serval deal AoE damage to the enemies and she can enhance her output damage by using her abilities. Her ultimate allows her to give DoT debuff to enemies and extend it.

B-Tier Characters

Sampo	4-Star	Wind	Sampo is a Wind-type DPS character that deals AoE damage and stack Wind Shear debuff on enemies.
Qingque	4-Star	Quantum	Qingque is a DPS character that deals a great amount of damage but she relies on Luck. She can buff herself to enhance output damage as well as speed.
