Horizon II Forbidden West is in '' the final stages of its development, '' confirms Guerrilla

Game director Benjamin McCaw confirms in an interview that Horizon 2 Forbidden West is in its final stages of development.

PlayStation gamers can’t wait to get their hands on the long-awaited sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn. Guerrilla Games has put all the meat on the grill with Horizon II Forbidden West, which could initially go on sale later this year on PS5 and PS4 … although some rumors put its release on the market in 2022. The good news is that its development is practically over.

Yesterday we shared new details about Horizon II Forbidden West, such as its new climbing system, new skill tree for Aloy, or that it will have performance mode at 60 fps on PlayStation 5. And, now, the director of the game has confirmed that Horizon 2 is in the final phase of its development, even having a private beta already available to the members of the study.

This was confirmed by Benjamin McCaw, director of the title, in an interview with Hardware Zone. The creative affirms that at this moment they are detecting and polishing errors in the PS4 and PS5 game, as well as focusing their efforts on some areas that had been somewhat behind. The important thing is that the development of Horizon II Forbidden West is coming to an end, although there are still a few months of work to do.

” We have just successfully completed our beta, which is quite advanced. We are now in the final stages of development. So we are polishing the game and fixing bugs. We are also finishing certain aspects of the game, such as some of the machines being overdue because it takes an enormous amount of time to build them. We are working on the final kinematics. So, we are really finishing developing the game. There is still a lot to do with a game of this size and magnitude, but we are in the final stages, ” says the director.

As for its possible release date, Benjamin McCaw did not want to give more details, so we must stick to the recent statements of Hermen Hulst, former Guerrilla, and director of PlayStation Studios. According to the manager, Horizon II Forbidden West still has a launch scheduled for the end of 2021, but it is not certain … and therefore there is the possibility that it will be launched next year, in 2022.

The anticipation for Horizon II Forbidden West is great. Not surprisingly, the State of Play dedicated to the game has become the most-watched in the history of PlayStation. And, of course, we are speechless with the spectacular gameplay on PS5, so we have the hype through the roof … although we may have to wait for next year, along with Gran Turismo 7 and God of War Ragnarok.

Horizon II Forbidden West is coming to PS5 and PS4 in the coming months, although we don’t know yet if it will be in 2021 or 2022. Aloy’s new adventure will be more impressive than ever, with playable news, greater depth to improve our protagonist, and much more.

Leak: video of a working PlayStation 5 dev kit appeared

Before the official release of the PlayStation 5 design last year, images of devkits, a version of the console for game developers, were repeatedly leaked online. Someone merged photos, someone made renders, or simply redrawn the silhouette of the PS5 dev kit. Now the video has appeared with the included console.

A TikTok user posted a video of the PS5 devkit and noted that the console gets so hot that it can be used as a heater in cold weather. A few hours later, the account with the video was deleted, but someone managed to make a copy.

Debug information is displayed on the left side of the console. The devkit from the video is connected to a gigabit network and is equipped with some firmware 1.0.0.9.

Apparently, the author of the video was allowed to take the console home for the duration of the remote work. The final design of the PS5 is strikingly different from the working studio version, both inside and out.

The developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 responds to fan criticism of poor AI

After watching the debut gameplay trailer of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, many fans noted the strange artificial intelligence of opponents, when they cannot hit the main character with a weapon, being only a few meters away from him.

Developers of STALKER 2 decided to reassure fans, assuring that everything is in order with the artificial intelligence, and that shown in the video was done deliberately to give it a more cinematic look.

For the trailer, we deliberately turned the AI down to a minimum for maximum cinematography. In the game itself, you can choose How many bullets, and how often you catch them.
