Link cannot simply go through the Dark and you will have to light up the area to keep going ahead. You can light up the area by using the two items that can be found around the Hyrule World.

• Brightbloom Seed
• Lightroot

Both of these items are mainly used to light up the darkness to a certain radius.

How to Use Brightbloom Seed in Tears of the Kingdom

The Brightbloom Seeds are very easy to get as they can be found near the cavern areas as well as inside the cavern areas. You can pick them up from the plants they grow in and you can use them in various ways. In order to use the Brightbloom Seed, you can follow the following steps:

• Press the + Button to open the Inventory. Press the L/R Button to switch the Tab to Materials.
• Press the A Button on Brightbloom Seed to Select it and then select the Hold option.
• Press the B Button to exit the inventory and then press the A Button to Drop the Brightbloom Seed. You can increase the distance by pressing the Down Arrow.
• After dropping the Brightbloom Seed, you need to attack it with a Melee Weapon to light it up.

By lighting up the Brightbloom seed, it will light up a small area across the darkness. You will have to repeat this process multiple times to get through the darkness. You can also Fuse Brightbloom Seed with the Arrows. By shooting an arrow fused with Brightbloom Seed, it will light up on the collision.

How to Use Lightroot in Tears of the Kingdom

The Lightroot is the organic item that can be found in the depths. You cannot grab or store the Lightroot as it only allows you to interact with it. Interacting with the Lightroot will light up the darkness without even using the Brightbloom Seed. If you are traversing through the cavern and you come across a Lightroot, make sure to interact with it to light the area ahead.
