Microsoft showed the Xbox Series S on July 1, but no one noticed it

A fun fact was shared by Xbox officials. Phil Spencer performed at Gamelab20 in early July and the Xbox Series S could be seen on his bookshelf at the back, but at the time no one knew exactly what the console looked like.

Spencer himself says that this was not the only time he showed the console — for example, it could be seen at the same place on July 24 in an interview with ijustine on the occasion of the Halo Infinite show.

Before that, the Xbox Series S was seen by few other Microsoft employees, and among them were Digital Foundry specialists. According to them, the company showed them the console in March, but they could not tell about it.
