Palia: How to Unlock Riffroc Mount

Riffroc is finally stepping out of the story and is now available as a ranching animal and rideable mount in Palia. It is the eleventh animal for the player’s ranch, where they can raise and take care of it alongside other animals. Moreover, it is the new mount option, allowing players to ride the raised Riffrocs from their ranch. In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock the Riffroc mount in Palia.

How to Unlock Riffroc Mount in Palia

To be able to unlock the Riffroc mount, you need to first unlock Riffroc as a ranching animal. Riffroc is a new animal available for the player’s ranch in Palia. It is an adorable and charming animal that has a big love for hunting. The overall look of the animal is that of a griffin. They are quite friendly and respectful. To unlock the Riffroc animal at your ranch, you must acquire a Riffroc Voucher by completing the two new quests for Nai’o. However, it is essential for you to at least complete the “A Stitch in Time” main quest for Eshelon before you pursue these quests.

NOTE: Nai’o will visit you at the Ranch once you have reached Ranching Level 10. Speak to Nai’o to initiate the new quest.

Once done, you can use the voucher at the Ranching Store to get your first Riffroc ranching animal.

After using the voucher, you will unlock the ability to purchase more Riffroc animals from the Ranching Store for 6,500 Gold. However, it does not appear in the store for purchase until you get the Riffroc Voucher. As you purchase the Riffroc, it will arrive at your Ranch as a baby with a random trait, color, and pattern.

NOTE: If you don’t have access to Ranching yet, complete the Like A Bird quest. After that, Delaila visits the plot and introduces you to your Ranch area.

How to Customize Your Riffrocs in Palia

Customizing your Riffrocs in Palia requires you to alter their traits. As you breed Riffrocs at the ranch, they all will get random traits. If there is a trait that you do not like, or want to reroll traits, then you must use certain treats. These treats will help you get random functional and cosmetic traits on a Riffroc, customizing the overall Riffroc.

Here are the effective treats that you can feed to the Riffroc to customize them.

• Cookie of the Day: Feed this to an animal to grant it a single random cosmetic trait.
• Roulette Cookie: Feed this to an animal to grant it a single random trait.
• Oopsie Cookie: Feed this to an animal to remove a single random trait.
• Reroll Cookie: Randomizes the tier of each of your animal’s traits.

Begin with feeding Cookie of the Day and Roulette Cookie to get a random functional and cosmetic trait. If you get good traits, you can keep them. However, if you get some bad traits that you don’t like, you can remove them by using the Oopsie Cookie. If you wish to randomize all the traits on a Riffroc, then use Reroll Cookie.

How to Use the Breed Riffrocs as Mounts in Palia

After breeding and customizing your Riffrocs in Palia, you can ride them as mounts once they are adults. You cannot use “baby” age Riffrocs as mounts. If you have gotten some unique traits on a Riffroc and don’t want to wait for it to grow, then feed the “Insta-grow Cookie” to that Riffroc to age it to Adult instantly.

Once you have an Adult Riffroc, you can choose it as the current mount under the new “Mounts” tab in the Collection. After selecting the Riffroc as the current mount, you can ride it freely anywhere in the Palian world.
