PlayStation Plus Video Pass is a trial service that will only be available in Poland, confirms Sony

The PlayStation Plus service in Poland today exclusively receives a new benefit, Video Pass, leaked yesterday. Sony confirms that it is a test service.
After the leak, at the hands of Sony itself, of what seemed like a new advantage for PS Plus users, the company has cleared up all this mess. The vice president of global services of SIE, Nick Maguire has given an interview to Spider’s Web, where he explained the launch of this Video Pass.
Indeed, Video Pass is confirmed as a new service linked to PS Plus, but it is only a trial that will run in Poland for one year. PS4 and PS5 players with PS Plus within the country will be able to take advantage of more than 20 Sony Pictures movies and shows included in this service.
We want to see how players will benefit from this service, Maguire explained. What titles do they see, what do they care about, how often do they use them? However, nothing has been said about a possible launch worldwide or in other territories.
At this stage, however, I can’t say if it will be created and what the testing process will look like for other markets, as well as what the future of PlayStation Plus Video Pass looks like after the trial period. We are currently focusing only on the Polish market, on the Polish players, and what will be their reaction to the additional benefit of the PS Plus program.
Regarding the decision to launch this test in that specific country, the executive commented the following: We know very well that we have a large player base in Poland who stand out for their commitment and activity on the network and social networks. They also like to use VoD platforms. For us, this is the perfect combination, the perfect market, to introduce a trial service as part of the PS Plus program and see what our key users think about it.
