For the Melee – Shield Build to work perfectly, it is important to have a combination of Tank archetypes. Players need to equip the following Archetype combination for Melee – Shield Build.
- Challenger: As a Primary Archetype
- Engineer: As a Secondary Archetype
Challenger is the tankiest archetype in Remnant 2 and it is perfect for this build. Players need to use the Juggernaut Skill of Challenger for this build which will allow players to gain 3 stacks of BULWARK, 15% increased Movement and Melee Speed, and 50% increased Melee damage. The perks of Challenger will increase Damage output and Damage reduction.
- Close Quarters: Grants a 3.5% increase to All Damage to enemies within 10m.
- Intimidating Presence: After activating a Challenger Skill, enemies within 10m deal 10% less damage for 15s.
- Powerlifter: The Stamina Cost increase for each weight bracket is reduced by 50%.
- Face of Danger: Using a Relic within 10m of an enemy grants 2 stacks of Bulwark for 10s.
Having an Engineer Archetype equipped allows players to carry heavy weapons more freely which is a great aspect for this build. Players will be able to place down the automatic turret with Engineer’s Heavy Weapon: Vulkan skill that will target specific enemies that players are focused on or autonomous targets. The perks of the Engineer Archetype increase the Damage and Movement Speed with Heavy Weapons that will allow players to move more freely in between enemies.
- Metalworker: Increases Skill Damage by 5%. Heavy Weapons gain 5% Ammo Capacity and +2.5% Max Health.
- Magnetic Field: Heavy Weapons grant 15% Damage Reduction to all allies within 2.5m.
- Heavy Mobility: Movement Speed while Carrying a Heavy Weapon is increased by 35%.
- Surplus: Using a Relic refills 15% of Heavy Weapon Ammo. The bonus is doubled when Heavy Weapon is stowed.
Best Weapons for Melee – Shield Build
The weapons that players need to use for the Melee–Shield build are the following.
- Melee Weapon: Iron Greatsword (Upgraded to Max Level)
- Primary Weapon: Merciless
- Secondary Weapon: Enigma
Iron Greatsword is one of the best Melee Weapons in the game as it has the highest base damage of 105. Players need to upgrade it to Level 20 which is the max level and it will deal a whopping 315 damage to enemies without any critical chance. To get the shield effect for attacking the enemies, players need to put on Shield Breaker Mutator on Iron Greatsword. The Melee Attacks grant a Shield for 2% of Max Health, Max 20%, and Last 10s. Upgrading the Shield Breaker will enhance its passive bonus.

Both the Primary and Secondary Weapons are used against the flying enemies. Merciless and Enigma, both are one of the best weapons in the game and deal significantly high damage than other guns. So, having them at your back will not be an issue against flying enemies.

Accessories for Melee – Shield Build
The accessories for Melee-Shield Build contain an Amulet and Rings that grant certain passives regarding Shield which makes this build complete.
- Amulet: Energy Diverter, While a SHIELD is active, gain 10 Critical Chance and 15% to all damage dealt.
- Ring: Generating Band, Regenerate 3% of Max Health per second while a Shield is active.
- Ring: Rerouting Cable, Gain 5% of Max Health as a SHIELD for 5s after spending 25 Stamina. Accumulation resets after 5s of inaction. Max 50% SHIELD.
- Ring: Vacuum Seal, Increases Automatic Pickup Range for Scrap by 100%. Picking up Scrap, Iron, or Ammo grants a SHIELD for 10% of Max Health for 10s Does not stack.
- Ring: Stone of Balance, Increases all damage by 7%.
Rerouting Cable Ring will activate the shield whenever players roll and Vacuum Seal will activate the shield whenever players pick up any kind of item from the ground. With the shielding effect on, health will regenerate automatically so players don’t have to use the Heart Relics to restore their health.
