Sony would be very close to buying Bluepoint Games (remakes of Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus), according to a rumor. Bluepoint would seek to make its own IPs and not just be a “remake studio”.

Bluepoint Games, responsible for the recent remakes of Demon’s Souls on PS5 and Shadow of the Colossus on PS4, could become part of Sony. According to a rumor from Resetera, both studios are currently finalizing the deal, which will be announced shortly.

As indicated, Sony is very happy with Bluepoint’s work ethic and their ability to make very solid games at a good pace. They also hope to use their talent and technology in other Sony studios, particularly Sony Japan Studios, with whom they have a good relationship having collaborated on several projects.

From Bluepoint’s point of view, it seems that they are looking for stability to be able to develop their own IPs and not be a “remake studio” (which does not mean that they cannot continue to do remakes).

In the aforementioned forum, the user MarsupanRumpan stated that his sources are “two reliable people” and although he has not been able to verify them to the forum moderators, he has literally bet his permanence on this story, and if it is not confirmed before February 28th, he will leave the forum.

Bluepoint Games is honored to make the first PlayStation 5 exclusive game to be launched by Sony. The Austin, Texas-based studio also includes remastering the Uncharted trilogy on their resume, and they collaborated on PlayStation All-Star Battle Royale.

Its talent for updating classics is more than proven, and this Demon’s Souls, despite being a remake of a PS3 game, will be one of the console’s greatest displays of power. Look at how the graphics have changed since the original PS3!

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
