Sony will stop manufacturing more PS4 Pro units, according to the officials

According to the official PlayStation shop, it seems that Sony has no intention of continuing to produce more PS4 Pro units (yes, normal PS4). Will PS5 production improve?

Sony is in a transition period. Its new console, PlayStation 5, has been a success. However, its production capacity for the console is clearly insufficient, far outpaced by demand (and possibly affected by the production shutdowns of this pandemic year).

That’s why you can’t leave out your PlayStation 4, which is still very popular in the Christmas season. Most of the new releases, in fact, can be played on the old console with a few exceptions such as Demon’s Souls… or Cyberpunk 2077.

That leaves them with a dilemma: what to do with the production of PlayStation 4 to motivate users to switch to PS5? It seems that Sony’s solution is to end the production of the PlayStation 4 Pro. The console review, launched in 2016, offered 4K graphics (though not native ones, as on PS5), and is being sold as an alternative to the cheaper PS4 Slim.

But according to the American PlayStation online shop, although you can still buy a PS4 Pro, there’s no intention of replacing the product in the future once it’s sold out. There is no such message on the PS4 Slim tab.

This would not be surprising, as Microsoft also halted production of Xbox One X (but not Xbox One S) in anticipation of the launch of Xbox Series X/S.

Microsoft’s new consoles are also sold out in virtually all shops, so will you be able to maximize resources to produce more units of your popular new consoles? Let us hope that this will put an end to the nonsense of speculation in the resale of consoles, which has attracted the attention of even the British Parliament…

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
