How to Get the Fishing Rod in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life

The Fishing Rod is one of the earliest tools in the game but it will not be given to players at the beginning like the rest of the starting tools that Takakura gives. Players would have to get the Fishing Rod by themselves. In order to get the Fishing Rod, players would have to buy it from Van’s Shop. Van is a merchant who only comes to the village on the 3^rd and 8^th Day of every season. There are only 10 days in each season and players would have to wait for Van to come to the village.

Players can spend or skip the day by sleeping but it is important to do daily tasks as well. When Van opens up the shop in the village, a brief cutscene will play, informing that Van has opened his shop. After that, players need to go to Van’s Shop and select the “I’d Like to Buy” option to view the goods. Browse the goods and select the Fishing Rod to buy. It will cost 500 G to buy the Fishing Rod.
