Kicinski spoke about the development of Cyberpunk 2077 in a commentary to the Polish Press Agency – Poland’s state news agency.
According to the head of CD Projekt, the studio still plans to release patches for the game in January and February 2021. The developers announced these large-scale updates designed to solve bugs and performance problems on December 14, 2020, four days after the release of Cyberpunk 2077, but did not disclose the details of the updates.
Adam Kicinski said that CDPR is still not ready to share the details of the January patch, but noted that versions of Cyberpunk 2077 on all platforms will receive the update.
When Cyberpunk 2077 will reappear on the PS Store is still unknown – although the developers, according to Kicinski, are in constant contact with Sony and are eager to bring the game back to the digital store as soon as possible. Sony temporarily removed Cyberpunk 2077 from sale on its site on December 18, 2020.
In conclusion, Adam Kicinski emphasized that even against the background of problems with Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt did not have a mass exodus of employees. At the same time, the top manager added that the gaming industry is characterized by a situation in which developers, who have been engaged in one project for many years, are thinking about leaving the team.
