The producer and curator of the Street Fighter series announced his departure from Capcom on Twitter. Yoshinori Ono thanked the fans of the fighting game for their support over the years, adding that he would watch the series develop with interest.
Ono worked at Capcom for almost 30 years — before becoming a producer, he also served as a music designer.
In addition to Street Fighter, Ono produced some parts of Monster Hunter, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, as well as the action-RPG Deep Down, which he introduced in 2013 during the presentation of the PS4.
Earlier, Capcom presented the content plan for the final fifth season of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. The fighting game will add five new characters — the last of them will be released in the fall of 2021.
