DREDGE – How to Catch Squids

The Squid is one of the species that can be found in the water in the game and it is also required for one of the main pursuits for the Fishmonger. The Pursuits are like the main quests that you have to complete in order to progress in the game and once you have completed the pursuit of Grey Eel Fish, the Fishmonger will ask you to get Squids for his next special order.

Equipment & Time Required for Squids

The Squid is one of the species that can only be found in Coastal Waters. In order to catch a fish from the Coastal Waters, you will have to get a Coastal Rod that can be bought from the Shipwright shop in Greater Marrow Town. But you will already have the Coastal Rod in your Cargo so, you will not need another Coastal Rod anytime soon.

Nighttime is very scary because it is the time when your character will start to lose his Sanity but it is also the only time when you can find the squids. So, you will have to undock your boat in the nighttime and look for the squids in the water.

Catching the Squids

Squids can be found during Nighttime near the “Little Marrow” Town. Little Marrow Town is on the East side of the map and you can see it directly in front of Greater Marrow Town. When you undock from Greater Marrow Town, go straight toward the east side and keep your eyes on the water. When you get closer to Little Marrow Town, you will see some bubbles in the water. Press the X Button on the bubbles to start the fishing.

The most chance of this Fishing Spot is that it will be Squids’ fishing spot and you will get to catch the squids by completing the mini-game of catching the fish. You will have to pull the squids at the right time to pull them out quicker. Press the X Button when the line reaches the Bars to pull them out quickly and you will catch the squid. After catching the squids, you will be able to turn them over to the Fishmonger for his pursuit or sell them for money.
