How to Complete the Mystery Cargo Quest in Palia

Starting the Quest

The Mystery Cargo quest only triggers by accessing the storeroom beneath the Inn. To access the Storeroom, you must reach Friendship Level 3 with Reth and complete the “Piece of Cake” quest for him. As you complete the Piece of Cake quest, Reth will tell you about the Mysterious Box, which will initiate the Mystery Cargo quest.

Find the Key to the Box

Reth will tell you that Zeki has thrown the key where “no man can survive”. This hint refers to water, meaning the key is somewhere in the water of Kilima Valley. Now, to find the key, you have to fish in any body of water within Kilima Valley. You can fish with or without the bait; either way, the drop for the “Small Key” is random.

However, the river behind the tavern is where you will have a high chance of getting the Small Key, sooner rather than later. Moreover, you can also try fishing in a deeper river just up north of the village. It is best to fish in the river close to the village to find the key quickly. The fishing mini-game for catching the key will be the same. After catching something in the water, reel it in while keeping it in the brackets.

Return to Reth and Open the Mystery Box

After successfully finding the “Small Key” for the mysterious box, it’s time to head back to the storeroom. Go to the storeroom below the Inn and use the key to open the box. You will find a letter in the box. Open the quest’s item from the inventory to read the letter. The letter will be from Zeki’s mom.

Talk to Zeki

After reading the letter, open the map to find Zeki. Go and speak with Zeki about the letter. As the conversation ends, the Mystery Cargo quest will conclude.
