Progressing through the biomes in Saros during your runs will let you encounter all sorts of enemies, requiring you to perform different maneuvers. While most of the attacks are pretty easy to understand and counter, the Yellow projectiles might confuse you in the first hour. Unlike blue or red projectile attacks, the Yellow projectile attacks build up corruption on the protagonist, which lowers the maximum health bar. Whether you block it with a shield or get hit by a yellow projectile, it will build corruption. There are a couple of ways to deal with corruption, but corruption has its own benefits as well. How to Deal with Corruption in Saros

Corruption is an ailment inflicted by either absorbing the yellow projectiles or getting hit by them. It does not deal damage to you directly, but builds over the health meter, lowering the maximum health. The more you take hits from yellow projectiles or absorb them, the more corruption will build, leaving you with low maximum health, which can be deadly far up in a run. Now, there are two ways you can deal with corruption in Saros. The primary method is to use the Power Weapon to reduce the built-up corruption.
If you have corruption, you can use the Power Weapon by holding L2 and pressing R2 to reduce it. Every time you absorb the blue projectiles, it fills up the power gauge, allowing you to use the Power Weapon. If you want to get rid of corruption, then this method will do just fine, especially in the early game.

The second method, which the game does not tell you, but you can do after getting a specific upgrade, is breaking the yellow projectiles by punching. Now, the upgrade that you need to get is Shield Amplifier, which allows you to draw power from the corrupted projectiles. However, it would still build up the corruption. The trick here is to punch the incoming corrupted projectiles to draw power from them without building up any corruption. As the punching and the shield button are the same, R1, you just have to press it quickly when the projectile is about to hit you to turn it into power.

How to Make Use of Corruption in Saros
Corruption can be deadly for a run, but it also plays a crucial role in powering the Corrupted Weapons. During your run, you might come across a Corrupted Weapon. If you have a high amount of built-up corruption, the Corrupted Weapon will become more powerful. It will deal devastating damage to enemies, allowing you to get past easily. However, you would still have to be flexible in dodging the incoming attacks due to low health.
