Gothic 1 Remake: How to Get Digger’s Dress Armor for Free

Gothic 1 Remake’s early game is very difficult, as most of the common enemies strike you down with one hit. It is mainly because of the lack of armor. You can get decent armor from the vendors at the Old Camp and the New Camp at a cost of hefty Ore nuggets. Wolf in the New Camp sells the Digger’s Dress, which is one of the best early armors you can get without getting into any trouble. However, there is an easy, free way to get the Digger’s Dress armor. How to Get Digger’s Dress Armor for Free in Gothic 1 Remake

You can get the Digger’s Dress Armor for free by speaking with Swiney at the Free Mine. While speaking with Swiney, you need to select the following dialogue options.

• “I want to become a digger.”
• “Yes”

Once done, Swiney will give you the Digger’s Dress for free for joining the Free Mine.

How to Reach the Free Mine in Gothic 1 Remake

The biggest challenge to get the Digger’s Dress for free is reaching the Free Mine. To get the Free Mine, you will first have to get to the New Camp. While you are in the Old Camp, speak with Drax or Mordrag. You can find Drax past the bridge from the Old Camp north gate, or you can find Mordrag near the Old Camp south gate. Speak to either of them, and you will have the option to get an escort to the New Camp.

Once you are inside the New Camp, you need to follow the path uphill to get to the Free Mine. From the tavern, follow along the path on the left, up the hill. Continue ahead on this path and stick to the left side. After a few moments, you will see a waterfall ahead. Go left from here, and continue along the path until you reach the cave.

NOTE: There will be some Scavengers along the way.

Go inside the cave and continue along the cavern path to exit through the other side. There will be some Molerats inside the cave, so be careful. Once you exit the cave, continue along the path straight ahead, and you will reach the Free Mine.

Find Swiney at Free Mine

Upon reaching the Free Mine, you will see a mercenary at the entrance. Go to the left, and as you go down the path, Swiney will be standing outside his cabin. Speak with him, and you will get the Digger’s Dress armor for free.
