Finding these campsites can earn you new Artifacts from the rummage piles, reward you with new campfire recipes, and materials. What are the Campsites in Royal Highlands & How They Work – Palia

The campsites are the locations in Royal Highlands where travelers can gather to unite and cook food. Moreover, the main reason why campsites are important is for the rummage piles and the traveler caches. Each campsite has a rummage pile and a traveler cache. Digging the rummage pile at the campsite grants a random artifact. Looting the traveler cache has a chance of rewarding you with one of the new tea recipes. Last but not least, there might be a Campfire Soup at the campsite. It is a rare consumable item that players can only find at an active campsite.

Now, speaking of active campsites, although there are 10 campsites in total, only two of them are active at a time. The active campsites are random on each server. You might have two active campsites on one server, and when you join another server, the active campsites will be different. Once you arrive at an active campsite, loot the Campfire Soup or the Traveler Cache to discover the campsite. It will mark the campsite on your map, and whenever it is active, it will appear on the map.

Another important thing to remember is that only the active campsites have the rummage piles and traveler caches available. If you go to a campsite location that is not active, the rummage pile, traveler cache, and campfire soup will not be there. If you are hunting for all rummage piles or the traveler caches, you must join different servers frequently to speed up the process.
