Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen: How to Unlock Transmog
Discover how to unlock Transmog feature in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen DLC and how to transmog equipment items.
Transmog is a new exclusive feature in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen DLC. It was not originally in the base game. Transmog is a layered armor system that allows you to change the appearance of an equipment item without altering the stats. If you have a favorite-looking armor or any equipment item in the game, but its stats are not impressive, you can transmog it to another item with better stats. Since the Dark Arisen DLC offers a lot of new weapons and armor, there are so many clean pieces to choose from. However, this feature is not readily available at the start of the DLC. In this guide, we will explain how to unlock Transmog in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen DLC.
How to Unlock Transmog Feature in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

The Transmog feature unlocks after completing the Reaching the Far Shore side quest for Jiera. You can initiate this quest during the Soul Searching main quest. Jiera will ask you to get a Treatise for her. Although it sounds simple enough, it is not. The treatise you are looking for is the Tailour-Crafte Treatise, which can only be found inside a cave at Norgan Lake. It is a big lake in the Norgan region.

Now, the only way to get to the cave is to freeze the river to make an ice path. If you speak with Jiera, she will mention a creature that can help with that. However, that creature is a Frost Dragon. Follow the quest until you encounter the Frost Dragon. There are three encounters with the Frost Dragon. Every time, the dragon will flee the area and fly to a new one, and after the second encounter, it will take its place in the lake.
You need to defeat the Dragon at the lake by using a ballista on a ruin structure. It is best to let your pawns use the ballista, and you drive the dragon’s attention towards yourself. Stay in cover and let your pawns defeat the dragon.

Once done, head to any Inn and wait for a day. This will create ice paths on the lake that you can follow to reach the cave and get the treatise from the chest inside. Lastly, you can bring the treatise to Jiera, who will then ask you to deliver it to Hal (the blacksmith).
How to Transmog in DD2: Dark Arisen DLC

To Transmog any equipment, speak with Hal and select the “Tailor equipment” option. After that, select the equipment item either from equipped gear or from your inventory to change its appearance. It costs Gold for every transmog, so it is very cheap.
However, there is a catch. You can only transmog the appraised Spoils equipment items. If you have an item from the base game, you cannot transmog it to change its appearance. However, you can change an appraised Spoils item to a base game item.
