A new promise from Bungie could radically change the fate of Destiny 2

Bungie recently announced the next big expansion for Destiny 2 – The Witch Queen. In this context, there were numerous new details about the upcoming add-on. In the amount of information, one of the most exciting announcements has almost completely disappeared. But that is exactly what a lot of players might be interested in.

What’s up with Witch Queen? “The Witch Queen” will be the next big expansion for Destiny 2 from Bungie. With this add-on we can expect a lot of new content and features – but not this year. Because of the global corona pandemic, Bungie postponed the expansion originally planned for autumn 2021 to February 22, 2022.

In the course of the recent reveal, the first official details were finally revealed, many of which are causing a lot of anticipation among fans and players. But one very interesting detail has almost completely disappeared.

Bungie wants to bring something new for the endgame every season

What exactly has gone down now? In the reveal stream for Witch Queen on August 24, 2021, the Destiny 2 developers announced, among other things, that they intend to continuously publish fresh endgame content with Witch Queen and in the subsequent seasons of year 5. Specifically, a new or refreshed raid or a new dungeon should come every season – for example, one of the following:

That is why it is so important: This lets many Guardians breathe a sigh of relief and is a source of joy, as many criticize the content replenishment in Destiny 2 and many would like to have more options, especially in the endgame. It is precisely this almost timeless content that helps many to bridge one or the other content dry spell and is one of the most popular group activities in the game. Should supplies come here regularly and Bungie keeps its promise, that would be a radical change for the endgame of Destiny 2.

We already know that:

  • A new dungeon is to be released in season 15, which will only be made available to buyers of the 30-year Bungie pack .
  • Furthermore, the Witch-Queen expansion is starting with a new raid matching the Scharr setting. This raid will not be a remake, it will be a completely new one.
  • Another two dungeons have already been announced by Bungie for the seasons in the course of year 5.

What can we expect? The dungeon from the birthday package takes place in the cosmodrome, the entrance is in the infamous Loot Cave from Part 1, but the dungeon itself is apparently supposed to be completely new. What awaits us with the other two dungeons is not known.

The Witch Queen raid in Season 16 will also be new. This takes place in the swamps of Savathûn’s throne world – in a sunken pyramid. There you are to confront an ancient danger that is trapped in it. Unfortunately, more details are not available at the moment – not even about other potential raids.

With the Destiny Content Vault, Bungie would have enough options to quickly bring back popular raids from earlier times – for example, Crota’s End, King’s Fall, or Wrath of the Machines. But also mothballed raids from part 2.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
