With Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Game Freak is finally bringing a breath of fresh air to the franchise. However, we still don’t know exactly how many aspects will work in the game. The assumption is that the open world will also have an effect on other aspects. According to a recent leak, this is definitely the case.
Item management in Pokémon Legends Arceus: Centro Pokemon wants to have learned that Arceus will bring an item management system with it. Specifically, this means the bags/backpacks will no longer be a bottomless pit and will not be able to house all of our items at once:
“Unlike previous games, in Pokémon Legends you won’t always be able to access all of your items. Your bag space is limited, and you’ll have to think about which items you take on a mission.”
Pokémon Legends Arceus Brings Item Management and Crafting
If the information turns out to be true, we will have to think about our goals and pack our bags accordingly before venturing into the open game world. This would give Arceus a tactical component that its predecessors lacked.
It remains to be seen how “hardcore” such survival mechanics actually turn out in the game. Perhaps the developers are taking their cue from Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which also offers a “survival light”.
Crafting instead of a full bag: Nintendo itself has already announced via Twitter that crafting will play a big role in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will play a big role. If you run out of items on the road, you will probably have to collect resources and craft Pokéballs and other items yourself until you reach a settlement again and can refill your bag. So exploring the game world is a challenge in itself.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus brings special forms with it
In the trailer that Nintendo, Game Freak, and The Pokémon Company presented to us this month, some fans found new forms for existing pocket monsters. On the one hand, these are alternative phenotypes of known specimens, which can even go hand in hand with new types – we already know this from the last installments of the series. On the other hand, this also concerns new development stages for Pokémon that previously could only evolve once or not at all.
