Imperium is one of the valuable resources in Age of Wonders 4 which is mainly used to spread your domain as a whole. Imperium is also used in a number of other things as well which will help you grow your cities and in diplomacy. As you will only get Imperium passively per turn, you will have to build certain structures and perform actions to earn more Imperium.

You will start with a certain amount of Imperium just like the rest of the Main Resources in the game. You will have to use the Imperium to build your relationship more quickly with the Free Cities and the found cities in your outposts. Building the relationship will grant you certain boosts to your bonuses and income of main resources. Imperium is also required to unlock the Empire Skills in the Affinity Skill Tree. If you want to unlock a skill under any type of Affinity, you will have to buy the skill with Imperium. Each skill cost a certain amount of Imperium so, you will have to get a lot of Imperium in order to unlock the higher-level skills.

You can increase the amount of Imperium you get on each turn by the following methods.

⦁ You can get Imperium by building City Structures such as Wizard’s Tower. It will increase +5 Imperium on each turn.
⦁ You can also upgrade the level of Wizard’s Tower to increase the Imperium income. By upgrading each level, +5 Imperium will be added to the income. The last upgrade of Wizard’s Tower leads to Arcane Observatory.
⦁ Another way to get Imperium is by Annexing Ancient Wonders.

Imperium is a very crucial resource because it is hard to manage it. There is not a lot of way to get it so, you will have to consume it more strategically.
