Animal Crossing: New Horizons could hit 10 million in lifetime sales

On March 20, Animal Crossing: New horizons released for Nintendo Switch while Doom Eternal launched for all consoles except Nintendo Switch.
Hundreds of Japanese people came out of their homes to get their copies from retailers. According to Japanese retailers, Animal Crossing: New Horizons won the hearts of the fans. While Doom eternal also performed well. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has beaten Pokemon Sword and shield in Japan.
According to Famitsu, New Horizons sold around 2.5 Million copies (digital+physical) in Japan and its a big win for Nintendo.
As reported by the United Kingdom retailers, Animal Crossing: New Horizons sold more copies than Doom Eternal. Among the list of the best-selling games in the Uk, New Horizons takes 1st position. 2nd position goes to Doom Eternal.
Speaking with CNN, an analyst at private financial services firm Wedbush predicted: “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” could hit 10 million in lifetime sales, while “Doom Eternal” could potentially trail behind at 6 million.
Furthermore, he said, “I think consumers will be thankful for something new to play given that so many find themselves cooped up under shelter in place regulations, so yes, I think that staying home will have a positive impact on sales,”.
