The Call of Duty games has a known system of Gunsmith in which players can create their own Loadout for the Multiplayer Mode. In this guide, we’ll tell you how Gunsmith works in the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

Gunsmith System in COD MW2

The general idea of the Gunsmith System is to create your own loadouts of weapons with your preferable playstyle. You can customize the guns you like with several attachments that will give you a huge advantage in the battle according to the situation.

Before getting into the new additions in this year’s Gunsmith System, the process of unlocking the new attachments remains the same. You’ll have to level up the weapon that you want to customize according to your liking by playing the matches. As you play the matches and kill the enemies with that weapon, you’ll level up that weapon and you unlock the attachments for it.

The Gunsmith System has a new addition of Receiver in this year’s COD. The Receiver will let you change the gun’s class and it will let you use the attachments of the same family weapon that you’ve already unlocked. Once you changed the receiver, you’ll also be able to level up that weapon and unlock attachments for it. The standard attachments for the guns are the same which includes the following attachments.

  • Barrel
  • Laser
  • Optic
  • Stock
  • Rear Grip
  • Magazine
  • Ammunition
  • Underbarrel
  • Muzzle

As you level up the weapons, you’ll unlock attachments and then you can put them on your weapons by going into the Gunsmith. You can also check the progression of your weapons by selecting the Loadout and going into the Progression Tab. This tab will show you all the attachments that you have unlocked for that weapon and the level of that weapon. If you create a new Loadout in the Loadouts tab and see all the weapons from different categories, you’ll see the total levels of that weapon which means you can only level up that weapon to that level. Some of the weapons have only 1 Level so, you won’t be leveling that up. Since it is the Beta version of the game, they’ll probably add attachments for those weapons as well.

You can also customize your weapon by going in the Customize tab of the Gunsmith and putting a charm on it or stickers of your like. The new addition that Call of Duty has added to the new game is Weapon Vaults. Weapon Vaults has a specific weapon and all of its attachments are in the same color scheme. This new addition will provide the perfect Blueprint for the weapons that are in the Weapon Vaults.

This will conclude our guide for the new Gunsmith System in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
