Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X | S versions will calm the mood, says CD Projekt

Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X | S in the final stretch of this year, with the goal of redeeming mistakes made in the past.
Cyberpunk 2077 promised to become one of the most impressive games of recent years. The result (as an experience) is excellent, but it is weighed down by bugs and serious technical errors on PS4 and Xbox One, while the PC version performed at a better level, although below expectations.
Thanks to patch 1.2 and the fixes of CD Projekt, the futuristic RPG is now much more enjoyable on all platforms, and the truth is that its commercial performance has been very commendable, adding 13.7 million copies in its first month to the sale and tripling the initial earnings of The Witcher 3.
The roadmap of Cyberpunk 2077 will continue with the first DLC and the long-awaited versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, of which Adam Kicinski has spoken at an investor meeting. According to him, the Polish studio firmly believes that these next-gen versions will help calm the atmosphere and improve the public image of the title, which has been diminished after its errors on old-gen consoles.
Kicinski believes that the performance of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S will have a very positive influence on the sales of the game, and will help skyrocket the popularity of his game around the world. They trust the word of mouth and the good impressions that these new generation versions leave.
However, that does not imply a relaxation within the Polish company. CD Projekt’s intentions are to continue releasing small patches for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, in order to continue reducing the extensive list of errors, and little by little to mold an experience closer to what was promised for years.
On the other hand, the CD Projekt RPG has not returned to the PS Store, so the only way to play it (for now) on PS4 is through the physical editions. It must be said that these old-gen versions improve considerably after patch 1.2, and especially if we play them on the new consoles, in case someone wants to venture into Night City now.
Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S in the remainder of 2021, still without a confirmed date. Additionally, CD Projekt will also release next-gen editions of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt for both consoles, in a launch window similar to Cyberpunk 2077.
