Diablo IV: How to Change the Appearance of Your Armor

Diablo 4 offers a number of customization options regarding the appearance of the character at the character creation time as well as in the game. The customization of appearance is not only tied to the character but it can also be done on the Armor/Gear Pieces your character is wearing. You can change/transmog the armor of your character into another armor appearance as well as change colors of it to your liking.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to change the appearance of your Armor in Diablo 4.

How to Change the Appearance of Your Armor in Diablo 4

In order to change the appearance of your armor or items in Diablo 4, you would have to unlock the Transmog style of the item you want. You can do that by salvaging items at any Blacksmith in the World of Sanctuary. However, not all the items or armor unlock the transmog. If an item has an AXE Logo in its details then it means it unlocks the transmog by salvaging it, otherwise, it will not unlock the transmog.

Once you have unlocked the transmog, you need to go to the Wardrobe. The wardrobe can be found in the very first town named Kyovashad that you visit in the main story. The wardrobe is marked with a Closet icon on the map and it is behind the Waypoint of the town. Simply go inside the building and go up the stairs to find the Wardrobe.

Interact with the Wardrobe and you will get the customization options for the appearance of your armor. On the right side, you will see all the Armor Gear Pieces you are currently wearing, and on the left side, your actual appearance with the Armor. Now, in order to change the appearance, select any Gear Item and you will find various variants for that Gear item. These variants are the transmogs that you have unlocked by salvaging different items and armor pieces.

Only the appearance will change but the stats remain the same unless you change the gear item from your inventory which is a regular way of equipping different armor pieces in Diablo 4, Check out all Rouge Armor Sets.

You can go through all of the Armor Gear Pieces and change their variant and color to your liking and make the ultimate appearance for your character. You can also change the appearance of your character within the wardrobe. If you change to the Appearance tab of the Wardrobe, you will get to change the Makeup, Jewelry, and Markings on your character.

Once you have changed the appearance of your Armor and items, simply exit from the Wardrobe, and all the changes will be applied. You can come to the wardrobe at any time to test out the new variants you unlock throughout the story and end-game.
