Dinkum: Critters Guide

Dinkum is the new crafting and farming game themed around Australia. There are a lot of things in this game that players can do for their survival.

In this guide, we’ll tell you about Critters and what can you do with them in Dinkum.

Critters

You can catch critters with your bare hands under the water. You won’t be needing any fishing rod like you did to catch the fish. You can sell critters to John for money. This is one of the early-game methods to make money. The critters don’t worth much but if you need little money then you can probably sell them. You’ll catch critters at the start of the game and there are also some milestones for catching critters. If you complete the milestones, you’ll get certain Permit points. It is an easy way to make money but it would be only helpful in the early game. There are also other things that you can do after catching the critters. You don’t always have to sell them to john.

Once John has opened his shop on the island, new NPCs will start to visit your island. There’ll be an NPC named Theodore that will come to the island and will open his museum. You can choose to donate a single critter from each specimen of the critters. There are characters as well in the game that will request you for the critters and can give you much better items in return than the money. You can see requests of the people on the Bulletin Board and you can complete these requests to earn useful items. So, try to keep some critters in your inventory to complete these requests. Make sure to complete the requests early because the critters and bugs take a separate slot in your inventory. So, it would be easier for you to give them away early as possible to make some space in your inventory. The critters that you donate to Theodore can be seen in the Exhibit when the Museum is open. The critters can also be stored in the containers and chests so, if you want to store them in your territory then you can do that as well.

How to Catch Critters

To catch the critters, you have to dive into the water and look for them on the ground. If you see any just swim to it and you’ll get the option to grab it. Grab the Critter and it will be added to your inventory. Critters can be hard to catch sometimes due to the environment. If there are any crocodiles or sharks in the water, you have to take them out first because they will attack you if you dive in the water.

It is also very hard to find critters in the night time so, it is preferred that you look for them in the daylight. The rain can also cause you to blur your vision further in the water and makes it hard to look for the critters on the ground. If you want to catch the critters quickly and easily then go in the daylight when it is not raining.
